Solstad Farstad sheds another anchor handler

Solstad Offshore Singapore, a subsidiary of Norwegian Solstad Farstad, has sold one of its anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessels.

In an Oslo Stock Exchange filing on Monday, Solstad Farstad said it delivered its Nor Chief anchor handler to an unnamed owner on that very same day.

The company added that the sale of the vessel would result in a minor negative accounting effect for the second quarter of 2018.

The Nor Chief was built in 2008 by Jaya Shipbuilding & Engineering. It is a 70-meter-long and 16.8-meter-wide AHTS vessel which can accommodate 52 people.

Earlier this month, Deep Sea Supply Shipowning, another subsidiary of Solstad Farstad, sold its Sea Badger anchor handler and delivered it to a new owner.

Solstad Farstad also recently delivered the Sea Fox, Sea Vixen, and Sea Stoat AHTS vessels to the Brazilian Navy, sold in a deal worth approximately $24 million back in September 2017.
