Total hires Havila platform supplier duo for UK work

Norwegian shipping company Havila Shipping has found work for two platform suppliers with Total E&P UK.

Havila Shipping said on Thursday that it won charter contracts with Total E&P UK for the Havila Aurora and Havila Borg PSVs.

According to the company, the contracts are for a period of three months and optional periods for up to 30 days for each vessel.

The contracts are scheduled to begin in May 2018 with the Havila Borg being taken out of layup to serve the contract with Total.

The Havila Aurora is of MT 6009 MK II design, built by Havyard Tomrefjord in 2009. It is 74.87 meters long, 16.40 meters wide with a deadweight of 3205 tonnes. The vessel is powered by four 1,291 kW Cummins KTA5DC main engines and can accommodate 31 people.

The other vessel, the Havila Borg, was also built by Havyard Tomrefjord in the same year as the Aurora. The Havyard 832-design vessel is 78.6 meters long, 17.60 meters wide with a deadweight of 3,787 tonnes, and can accommodate 31 people.

In related news, Swiss-based offshore services provider Allseas recently hired Havila Shipping’s Havila Crusader PSV. The Crusader will work for a firm period of ten months with optional periods of up to seven months.

Also, Havila recently sold the Havila Faith and Havila Favour PSVs.
