Solstad Farstad AHTS duo to work for Petrobras

Brazilian oil major Petrobras has awarded Solstad Farstad contracts for two anchor handler tug and supply vessels.

Solstad Farstad said on Thursday that the two vessels in question were the Far Scout and BOS Turquesa.

The company added that both contracts were one-year firm and that the Far Scout would be equipped with Fugro’s FCV work class ROV suitable for a water depth of 3,000 meters.

Both vessels will support exploration and production activities in Brazilian continental shelf.

The contracts will begin during the third quarter of 2018. It is worth noting that the charterer has the option to extend the contract with a further one-year period.

The Far Scout was built in 2001 by the Langsten yard. It is an 80-meter-long and 18-meter-wide AHTS which can accommodate 35 people.

The other vessel, the BOS Turquesa, was built in 2007 in the Estaleiro Itajaí yard. The vessel is 80.4 meters long, 18 meters wide and can accommodate 30 people.
