DOF to support TechnipFMC in Prelude FLNG ops

Business & Finance

DOF Subsea has been awarded a contract by Technip Oceania, part of TechnipFMC in Australia, for the provision of multi-purpose support vessel (MSV) Geoholm for Shell’s Prelude FLNG project in Australia.

DOF Subsea informed on Tuesday that the 2006-built Geoholm will be required to provide ROV and light construction support services to TechnipFMC in Australia for the Prelude FLNG water intake riser installation.

The company recently secured a Safety Case for Geoholm and the vessel will be available in the Asia Pacific region from the beginning of the second quarter of 2017.

John Loughridge, DOF Subsea EVP, Asia Pacific, said, “We look forward to working with TechnipFMC in Australia to deliver a safe and efficient project.”

To remind, in December last year, Shell awarded an engineering and project management services contract in support of the Prelude FLNG project to TechnipFMC. The work is being managed and delivered from the company’s operating center in Perth, Western Australia.
