Prosafe gets contract extension for accommodation rig

Repsol Sinopec Resources UK has extended the charter of the Safe Boreas offshore accommodation rig by 21 days.

According to Prosafe, the owner of the rig, the firm operational period of the Safe Boreas rig has been extended through January 27, 2017. The Safe Boreas is working at Montrose A in the UK sector of the North Sea. It has the capacity to accommodate 450 persons in single man cabins.

Prosafe said on Tuesday it continued with the reduced option periods’ day rate consistent with market conditions, without providing further details.

Also, the company on Monday said its Safe Notos rig had started its 3 years and 222 day duration contract for Petrobras on December 7, 2016.
