Teekay has posted a video on Thursday showing the conversion of the Brazil-bound FPSO Pioneiro de Libra, sharing some interesting numbers.

The company said that the Pioneiro de Libra FPSO conversion required a project team of 162 people, a commissioning team of more than 40 people and more than 3000 people working daily over the course of 2 years.

According to Teekay, 16 million man-hours of shipyard activities were invested into the conversion without a single lost-time injury.

To remind, the naming ceremony for Pioneiro de Libra took place last Friday, December 2, at Sembcorp Marine’s Jurong Shipyard in Singapore where the conversion is taking place.

The FPSO is owned through a 50/50 joint venture between Odebrecht Oil & Gas and Teekay Offshore (OOGTK joint venture). Jurong won the contract to convert a shuttle tanker into FPSO for the Libra field in October 2014.

The unit was converted from one of Teekay Offshore’s former shuttle tankers, the Navion Norvegia. It will operate on the Petrobras-operated large Libra pre-salt field in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil with estimated reserves of 8 to 12 billion barrels. The field is considered to be the largest oil field offshore Brazil.

Pioneiro de Libra can operate at water depths of up to 2,400 meters, with a production capacity of 50,000 barrels of oil per day and daily compression capacity of four million cubic meters of gas.
