Delmar expands by acquiring InterOcean

Business & Finance

Delmar Systems, a US offshore mooring, and subsea services company, has acquired privately owned InterOcean Systems, a San Diego-based manufacturer of oceanographic and environmental equipment.

InterOcean, including its proprietary Rig Anchor Release (RAR), is a manufacturer and designer of acoustic technology and releases, METOC buoys, current meters, transponders, transducers, hydrophones, subsea winches, and other specialized equipment including its proprietary remote oil spill detection system – Slick Sleuth.

Delmar said on Wednesday that the newly acquired company will continue to operate with its existing management from its San Diego headquarters as an affiliate entity of Delmar, offering the same products and services the company has previously offered to its customers.

Brady Como, Delmar’s Executive Vice President, said: “InterOcean’s products, services, and long-standing customer service will enhance Delmar’s product offering beyond the traditional oil and gas industry customer base. We welcome the dedicated professionals as InterOcean has a long-standing reputation serving the specialized marine equipment industry on a global basis.”

Mike Pearlman, President, and CEO of InterOcean, stated: “The synergies between Delmar and InterOcean make this combination of strengths a key benefit to our mutual customers.”
