Maersk Drilling’s 2008-built jack-up drilling rig has arrived in Danish Port of Esbjerg for service and maintenance.

The port said via social media on Friday that the Maersk Resolute had arrived at the Port of Esbjerg after completing a job on the oilfield South Arne in the Danish North Sea, approximately 250 kilometers off the coast of Esbjerg.

The news of the arrival of the jack-up rig comes only weeks after a rig positioning framework agreement was signed between Maersk Drilling and the Port of Esbjerg earlier this month. The deal entails providing Maersk Drilling with the possibility of positioning a number of rigs in the port during service or between jobs.

According to specs provided by the port, the Maersk Resolute jack-up rig has a gross tonnage of 15,589 tonnes and an overall length of 70 meters. The jack-up’s legs measure 146 meters and once positioned quayside at the Port of Esbjerg, service and maintenance on the rig will begin.
