Lundin extends ‘Safe Boreas’ stay

Prosafe, a provider of semi-submersible accommodation vessels to the international offshore oil and gas industry, has reported that one of its vessels has been given more time with Lundin Norway AS. 

Namely, Lundin has exercised a one month option for the provision of the Safe Boreas semi-submersible accommodation vessel at the Edvard Grieg Project in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

According to Prosafe, the one month option extends on site operations through mid-December 2015 and has a total value of approximately $10 million. In addition, Lundin has a further one month option.

The Safe Boreas is Prosafe’s newest vessel that is constructed to comply with Norwegian regulations. It was built at Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd. in Singapore and it has the capacity to accommodate 450 persons in single man cabins. The vessel is equipped with a DP3 (dynamic positioning) system as well as 12 point mooring arrangement.
