New Wintershall boss to take helm month earlier

Business & Finance

Germany’s Wintershall has informed that the change at its helm will come about a month earlier than previously announced.

Namely, Mario Mehren will take over the role of the Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors on June 1, 2015, instead of July 1.

To remind, Mehren is going to succeed Rainer Seele, who will leave the company at the end of May to move to Austria’s OMV.

The company said that Mehren will continue to act as head of Board Department 3 (Exploration and Production in Russia, North Africa and South America) for the time being.

According to the press release, there has also been a change in Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Wintershall Holding GmbH where Hans-Ulrich Engel from BASF’s Board of Executive Directors has taken over from Harald Schwager.
