SeaBird gets MOA for 2D seismic survey

SeaBird Exploration has received a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) from an undisclosed client to acquire up to 45,000 km of 2D seismic data in North/ South America region.

According to the company’s press release, the MOA provides for the company to charter one seismic vessel from SeaBird over a period of approximately 12 months, and is estimated to start during February 2015, subject to issuance of permits.

The survey will cover a minimum of 17,000 km and up to 45,000 km in several areas in NSA waters and will have an estimated value between $11 million (minimum program) and $30 million (full 45,000 km).

SeaBird did not respond to Offshore Energy Today’s query about the name of the client in question and the seismic vessel that is to be used for the survey.
