Delta SubSea hires ‘HOS Bayou’ MPSV

Delta SubSea has chartered HOS Bayou, one of Hornbeck Offshore’s recently built multi-purpose service vessels (MPSVs).

The HOS Bayou is the newest U.S.-flagged Jones Act-compliant MPSV on the market today, Delta SubSea explains.

Equipped with two Delta SubSea Schilling HD 150 HP work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) from DSS’s fleet of ROVs, the HOS Bayou is capable of performing inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) of subsea oil installations and construction support in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM).

In addition to IMR work, this vessel package is designed to perform a variety of deep-water services, such as SURF installation, decommissioning activities, drilling support and deep-water well intervention projects.

The HOS Bayou has a maximum speed of 12 to 14 knots with fuel consumption of 208 gallons per hour and is equipped with a 150-ton MacGregor knuckle-boom crane with active heave compensation (AHC) and a maximum lifting capacity of 48 tons at water depths of 10,000 ft.

The vessel also comes equipped with a 73-ft. diameter helideck and has 24 air conditioned/heated staterooms for 70-person berthing. For client comfort and workability, the vessel is equipped with an expansive ROV-client viewing lounge equipped with oversized monitors for both ROV systems and survey services.
