High Interest in Siemens’ Hull Jobs

Human Capital

Almost 1,000 people have submitted their applications for the first batch of Green Port Hull jobs.

A month ago, Siemens kicked off recruitment for a total of fourteen jobs, which include six land-based stores and servicing jobs and eight offshore wind turbine commissioning technician positions.

Project director Finbarr Dowling said: “We have been delighted with the volume of interest in these jobs and, most importantly, with the very high quality of the applicants.

“A significant number of extremely capable candidates applied and this gives us a very good feeling that we will be able to recruit people in the Hull area who meet our requirements.”

Dowling described these jobs as “vanguard for recruitment in Hull”. In the beginning, the company is likely to recruit in small groups, and expand on that as the process continues.

According to Siemens, its GBP 310 million facility in Alexandra Dock will directly create up to 1,000 jobs in the Hull region.
