Lundin to Drill PL 501 with Bredford Dolphin, Norway

Lundin Norway AS has received consent to carry out exploration drilling of well 16/3-7 in production licence 501 using the Bredford Dolphin mobile drilling rig.

Water depth at the site is approx. 116 metres.

Drilling is planned to begin in September 2013, with a duration of approx. 49 days, depending on whether a discovery is made.

Bredford Dolphin is a third-generation semi-submersible drilling facility of the Aker H-3 type. The facility was completed in 1976.

Bredford Dolphin is owned by Fred Olsen ASA and operated by Fred Olsen’s subsidiary Dolphin AS (Dolphin). The company’s head office is in Stavanger.

The facility is registered in Singapore, with DNV as the classification society.

Bredford Dolphin was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AOC) by the PSA in 2007.
