ITF Signs New Oil and Gas Members (UK)

ITF, the global technology facilitator, has signed three new members to its international group of oil and gas operators and service companies, who will work together to drive forward innovation and collaboration in the industry.

CNR International (CNR), the International division of Canadian Natural Resources Limited (Canadian Natural), one of the world’s largest independent crude oil and natural gas producers, will join international service companies, Expro and FMC Technologies to the organisation’s growing list of prominent industry players.

ITF and its members endeavour to tackle the most pertinent global industry challenges from seismic and reservoir characterisation to subsea and unconventionals. As an influential and prominent group of companies, members support technology development through ITF’s collaborative model to deliver innovative and groundbreaking solutions to the energy industry.

The organisation recently welcomed the appointment of Dr Patrick O’Brien who will take up the post as its new Chief Executive Officer from 1st April 2013. Dr O’Brien will be instrumental in strengthening members’ involvement in advancing technological innovation to commercialization and encouraging more companies to join the international group.

ITF Executive Chairman Max Rowe said: “The new year has started incredibly well for ITF with the enrolment of three new members to our very dynamic group of companies. The addition of new operators and service companies brings a wealth of fresh experience and knowledge which, in collaboration with others, can discover the most innovative answers to often age old industry problems. We’ve got to use more technology and innovation to access scarce resources which can only be achieved through collaborative R&D.”

Headquartered in Aberdeen, Expro provides services and products to assist its customers across the lifecycle of a well, from exploration and appraisal through to abandonment. Daniel More, Group Technology Director with Expro, said: “ITF’s core philosophy of innovation and collaboration is very much aligned with our own way of working. Our integrated range of solutions already goes some way to solving technical challenges, however, working in partnership with ITF and its members will allow us to learn and contribute more to ensure continued production and delivery of scarce energy supplies.”

FMC Technologies designs, manufactures and services a range of systems, from subsea production and processing systems to marine loading systems for the oil and gas industry. It is a Houston-headquartered company with approximately 16,800 employees, operating across 16 countries.
