New CEO Takes Over the Reins of Odfjell

The Board of Directors of Norwegian shipping company Odfjell SE has appointed Kristian Mørch as the company’s new CEO/President.

Mørch is set to succeed the current interim CEO/President Tore Jakobsen by the beginning of November 2015.

Mr Mørch presently holds the position as co-CEO of Clipper Group. He has previously been COO of Maersk Tankers, and has also held other management positions in A.P. Moller-Maersk.

“We are very pleased to have Kristian Mørch to lead Odfjell SE. His extensive industry experience together with excellent personal capabilities and leadershipskills makes him the ideal candidate to further develop the company,” says Chairman of Odfjell SE, Laurence Odfjell.

“Odfjell has a strong heritage and the highest level of expertise, giving Odfjell a unique position in a very competitive global market. I am looking very much forward to together with the team, further develop Odfjell’s position as a sustainable and profitable company,” added Mørch.

Odfjell’s CEO Jan A. Hammer stepped down last year due to “different views on the strategic direction for the company”.

Tore Jakobsen was appointed new President/CEO for an interim period.
