Norwegian Shipowner to Receive New 320.000 DWT VLCC Vessel

Jinhai Heavy Industry, a large-scale shipbuilding company, has recently finished the construction of a 320,000 dwt Crude Oil Tanker. The VLCC vessel, ordered by Norwegian shipowner, has been classified by ABS.

Max. speed 16 knots/h.

The shipyard claims that this type of vessel consumes less bunker fuel and is more energy efficient. Apart from this order, Jinhai has seven more orders for similar-sized oil tanker. At the moment, four of these vessels are under construction and scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2012.
