Bulgaria: Bulyard Shipbuilding Delivers New Bulk Carrier for Turkish Company

 

On 15th of April 2011, in the premises of Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry EAD the Delivery and Naming Convention of NB 101 for the Turkish company Diler Shipping and Trading took place.The ship is 55 427 DWT bulk carrier and is the first of Future-56 series built at Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry under the supervision of NKK.

The construction license for ships Future-56 was purchased from the Japanese company IHI Marine United Inc. and upon its realization at Bulyard new technologies in the design and production were applied. The main part of the equipment is produced and supplied by Mitsubishi Corporation. The main characteristics of the ships of this type are functionality in maintenance and service. Two sister ships of the same project are now being built at Bulyard – one for the same shipowner and one for Industrial Holding Bulgaria.

The event was attended by distinguished guests and representatives of the company shipowner, the classification society, of Mitsubishi Corporation and such of IHI Marine United Inc., representatives of the local governorship. The ceremony was attended by such prominent guests from Japan as the president of Mitsubishi Corporation for Europe, Middle East and Africa – Mr. Tetsuro Terada, as well as the president of IHI Marine United Inc. – Mr. Shigemi Kurahara. By crashing the bottle of champagne into the ship’s bow, as the tradition goes, the godmother of the ship – Mrs. Melek Yavan – General Manager of the shipowning company, wished flawless exploitation to all who sail in the ship. The solemnity of the ceremony, which turned into a tradition kept by the shipyard, was strengthened by the high-standing guests from Japan and Turkey as well as His Excellency Makoto Ito, Varna District Governor and Varna Mayor, who addressed special greetings to the shipyard’s team and the shipowner after the opening, accompanied by the playing of the orchestra of the Naval Forces of Bulgaria.
