Torm Expands Fleet with New Tonnage

Business & Finance

Danish shipping company TORM has expanded its fleet as it took delivery of two newbuilding MR2 chemical/product tankers.

The vessels in question, which were bought as resales from Hong Kong-based Cido Shipping, were named Torm Sovereign and Torm Supreme.

Each featuring 50,000 dwt, the tankers were purchased from Cido Shipping at a price of USD 32.5 million a piece, and their current market value stands at USD 33.8 million, data provided by VesselsValue shows.

Torm Sovereign and Torm Supreme, previously named Atlantic Falcon and Atlantic Guard, were constructed by South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

The Singapore-flagged newbuildings joined TORM’s fleet, which previously counted 15 tankers with a total of just over 1 million dwt.
