Bergen Group and AAK Energy Services Set Sights on Offshore Wind

Business & Finance

Norway’s Bergen Group has entered into a strategic cooperation with compatriot rope access specialist AAK Energy Services AS as the company plans to increase focus on new areas such as offshore wind farms.

Bergen Group ASA  is a supplier of products, services and solutions to the energy & industry market and the maritime industry.

“AAK Energy Services provides us with an attractive expertise in rope access and work at height, and this is considered as an asset for us when we are competing for demanding projects related to maritime services and ship maintenance. In addition, we aim to increase the focus on projects in new areas such as onshore and offshore wind farms. Here, a cooperation with AAK will strengthen our position in the market”, said Bergen Group’s CEO Hans Petter Eikeland.

AAK Energy Services AS is headquartered in Kokstad, Bergen, and has a branch office in Åndalsnes in Norway. Aak Energy Services AS is part of the AAK Group, which also consists of the associated company AAK IRV.

“AAK Energy Services AS has traditionally had its main focus towards offshore related activities. This has in recent years been a very challenging market with low profitability for most of the suppliers in the industry. A cooperation with Bergen Group will reinforce the process of securing AAK Energy Services a wider customer base and a more robust market position,” said Torgeir Nærø, managing director at AAK Energy Services.
