Two More Rig Repair Contracts for Signal

Signal International has signed two more Offshore Drill Rig repair contracts. All of the work is slated to be performed at the company’s shipyards in Pascagoula, MS.

Signal now has six rigs in it s backlog and will continue its aggressive hiring in order to build its workforce to over 1,000 employees.

Dick Marler, President and CEO of Signal remarked, “The added rigs to the backlog will allow Signal to build and stabilize its work force. The offshore industry in the Gulf of Mexico is extremely robust as technology has made it possible to drill and find oil in deep water.”

“The number of semisubmersible drill rigs o perating in the Gulf is at record levels. These and other types of rigs require periodic maintenance and upgrades when they are being fully utilized. We look forward not only to a robust 2014 but also 2015 and beyond. This has always been a strong market for our MS yards and they are among the best in the industry,” added Marler.

Signal continues to hire in all crafts as well as engineers, planners and schedulers, material procurement and project management.
