Hyundai Mipo Adds 16 Product Carriers

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) announced today in its regulatory filing to the Korea Stock Exchange that the company has won two orders worth approx $492 million for the construction of sixteen MR tankers.

The two contracts were signed on Oct 29th 2013, with ship owners from the Middle East. All vessels should be delivered by the end of November 2016.

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., Ltd. (HMD), founded in 1975, entered into newbuilding market in 1996 and has become a global leading shipbuilder specialized in medium-sized vessels of the highest quality. With these two big contracts secured, HMD’s sales for the latest fiscal year have climbed to astonishing $4.1 billion.
