Veth Propulsion Wins Z-Drive Order

Veth Propulsion signed a contract for the delivery of 28 counter rotating Veth Z-drives, type VZ-700-CR (700 kW/1600 rpm). The Veth Z-drives are intended for 7 aluminium catamarans, designed by CoCo Yachts Holland BV and intended for the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The 7 ferries of 78 metres have a capacity of 2000 passengers and they will sail between Rio de Janeiro and Niterói, keeping the World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Games 2016 in mind.

“Per day 100.000 people will be use this route” says Henk van Herwijnen, General Manager of CoCo Yachts.

The seven ferries will be used as a substitution and also completion of the current fleet. Veth Propulsion delivers 4 rudder propellers per ship.
