Solar Solve Marine Receives Another Large Order from Singapore

Solar Solve Marine, the South Shields based manufacturer of SOLASOLV® anti-glare, heat rejecting roller screens for navigation bridge and control room windows, recently received another large order from a Singapore Distributor for a series of six Passenger Ferries being built at Damen Shipyards.

SOLASOLV® screens are installed at the windows of ships, rigs and cranes of all types and sizes worldwide. They reject up to 87% of heat and up to 93% of glare from the sun. Eye-strain is significantly reduced ensuring computer displays are easier to read, and a completely clear outward view is maintained for safer operations. With a more ambient room temperature the crew have a comfortable working environment and are less prone to fatigue which can lead to human error. Suitable for newbuilds and retrofits, SOLASOLV® are the only sunscreens in the world to be Type Approved by Lloyds, ABS and DNV.

Paul Hopkins, Solar Solve’s Sales and Marketing Executive commented, “Our Singapore Distributor manufactures windows which they supply to shipyards and purchase SOLASOLV® screens to supply as a package. This is another significant order for our company in addition to the one we received from Seadrill last month from another Distributor in Singapore.

The six vessels are currently under construction in Singapore and are due to be delivered on a monthly basis between February and June this year to their owners. Each vessel will be equipped with 15 SOLASAFE® cassette sunscreens and the six ship sets will equate to 90 screens and a contract value worth just over 80,000 Singapore Dollars (approximately £40,000 GBP).
