Nevsky Shipyard Starts Mooring Trials of Neva Ander 2

Nevsky Shipyard, few days ago, started mooring trials of the second ship in the series of ten 7150 DWT river-sea dry-cargo vessels of  RSD49 project (Yard № 402). The vessels are being built for North -Western Shipping Company. The project is developed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design.

The vessels of Project RSD49 refer to Volgo-Don Max class. It means that vessels displacement meet the requirements for dimensions of Volga-Don Shipping Canal:

Length overall- 139,95 m

Breadth overall- 16,70 m

Capacity of cargo holds – 10920 m3

Deadweight in river (draft 3.6 m) – about 4520 t,

Deadweight at sea (draft 4.7 m) – about 7150 t

Service speed – 11,5 knots

The feature of the vessel of project RSD49 is the existence of a big middle hold in fifty two meters long, which makes it possible to transport “design” oversize and heavy-lift cargoes in one way voyage Europe-Caspian Sea. It should affect significantly on cumulative finance result.

The endurance at sea is 20 days

Ship crew – 10 people, places – 12. A sanitary cabin and a cabin for pilot are provided onboard.
