CSC Jinling Shipyard Books Order for Four Bulkers, China

CSC Jinling Shipyard, major Chinese state-owned shipbuilding enterprise, has received an order for construction of four 64,000 dwt bulk carriers from Queensland Nickel Group. According to the shipyard, the bulkers will incorporate modern design, tailored on the needs of nickel ore transportation.

The order forms part of the Australian billionaire, owner of the Queensland Nickel Group, Clive Palmer’s establishment of a new shipping business, called Asia Pacific Shipping Enterprises, which is designated to service the Group’s ore freight activities, Sino Ship News site informs.

Asia Pacific Shipping Enterprises will operate a fleet of ships out of Singapore, within the plan of the company’s expanding across Asian and the South Pacific market.

The Group’s cooperation with CSC Jinling is not limited to the order, because the shipyard represents the main manufacturer of the Palmer’s 21st century model of the Titanic, a plan led by another of his companies, namely the Blue Star Line.

CSC Jinling Shipyard, founded in 1952, covers an area of over 1,230,000 square meters. Since 1996 Jinling Shipyard completely entered into international newbuilding market to build different type of high quality vessels like RORO vessel, production oil tanker, chemical tanker, platform supply vessel, container vessel. Multi-purpose vessels, bulk carriers, floating docks etc for domestic and foreign customers are build according to the latest standards of Class Societies of CCS, ABS, GL, LR, BV, DNV, NK.
