Two LNG Carriers, the Biggest Ones So Far, Arrive for Servicing at Oman Dry Dock

Oman DryDock Company has been assigned with what might be the most challenging task since the beginning of its work operations, because it has been contracted for servicing and repairs of two carriers, the biggest ones so far, Oman Tribune informed.

Namely, the orders include maintenance and repair of German crude carrier Alpha Glory of 309,636 tones capacity encompassing 333x58x31.2 in size and Echigo Maru gas carrier with 67,219 tones capacity.

Apart from general servicing, carriers’ large quantity of steel will be replaced, followed by cleaning of their tanks.

According to Sheikh Khalil bin Ahmed Al Salmi, the orders come at the moment when the company is trying to “ optimise the utilisation of its human resources and facilities to become the best dry dock in the region through providing the best quality service that meets international requirements and place the Sultanate on the world map.”

“Since its soft operation in April 2011, the company completed the maintenance of 77 domestic and international carriers for companies in Japan, the US, India, Iran and other countries. The company also enhanced its presence in the specialised exhibitions and forums to raise awareness of ship owners about the wide range of services provided by the company,” he added.
