DOF Group, a Norwegian operator and owner of a fleet of vessels for the energy and marine sectors, is gearing up for a busy start to 2027 off the coast of Africa with a multimillion-dollar assignment for its 18-year-old DP3 multi-purpose offshore construction vessel, securing just over three full months of continuous vessel utilization for deepwater installation work that expands its footprint in the region.

DOF Group has disclosed the award of a significant subsea contract with a value between $15 million and $25 million, which will be executed by the 2008-built Skandi Acergy offshore support and heavy construction vessel in Africa.

This assignment with an undisclosed company is scheduled to start in early Q1 2027 with an expected duration of approximately 100 days. The award further strengthens the European firm's position in the African subsea market and adds to its backlog for 2027.

The Norwegian shipowner will deliver project management, engineering, logistics, and offshore execution services for the transportation and installation of various subsea production systems (SPS) in deepwater field developments.

Mons S. Aase, DOF Group’s CEO, commented: "We are pleased to secure this award and the trust placed in DOF by a leading operator. Deepwater SPS installation is a critical phase in the development of any field and requires careful planning, strong engineering and proven execution capability.

“Our priority will be to safeguard the installation, effectively manage project risks and deliver the work safely, efficiently and on schedule. We look forward to supporting our client in the successful delivery of this project."

While project management, engineering, and planning activities will be delivered by DOF's Atlantic region teams in Bergen and Aberdeen, offshore execution will be carried out during an offshore campaign in support of the unnamed firm's field development objectives.

The Norwegian shipowner and operator recently landed multiple deals, including a contract for a subsea decommissioning campaign in the North Sea.
