Norwegian geophysical services company Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has been selected by a Pakistani upstream petroleum company for geophysical data acquisition offshore Pakistan.
EMGS reported the signing of a letter of award with Mari Energies for controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) data acquisition across multiple offshore exploration blocks in Pakistan.
According to the Norwegian firm, the aim is to help improve prospect evaluation, reduce exploration uncertainty, and support better-informed drilling decisions by combining CSEM-derived resistivity information with seismic and geological data.
"We appreciate the opportunity to meet with Mari Energies' management and technical teams, together with their offshore joint venture partners for productive discussions on exploration opportunities and the integration of advanced geophysical technologies," EMGS stated on social media. "We thank Mari Energies and its partners for their confidence in EMGS and look forward to working together on this important offshore exploration program."
