Norway-based energy services provider Aker Solutions has secured a multi-year deal with BP, a UK-headquartered energy giant, enabling the company’s Aberdeen-based team to drive engineering, integrity management, project support, and operational services across a much broader asset portfolio in the North Sea.
Aker Solutions has won a frame agreement with BP for the provision of engineering and integrity services across the operator’s North Sea assets. The new award expands the firm’s existing support for the UK-headquartered giant’s west of Shetland assets to also include central North Sea assets.
Steinar Røgenes, acting Executive Vice President for Aker Solutions’ Life Cycle business, commented: “We are proud to take on expanded responsibilities and look forward to continuing to support safe, reliable and efficient operations for BP.”
This contract, which has an initial duration of three years, with two optional one-year extensions, will be managed by Aker Solutions' Life Cycle segment from its facilities in Aberdeen, Scotland, and is expected to support approximately 50 positions.
Røgenes added: “This award strengthens our position in the UK market and supports our ambition to grow our Life Cycle business.

Aker Solutions is busy with multiple projects, including a recent collaboration with Microsoft to speed up carbon capture and storage (CCS) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) projects to mitigate execution risks and assist developers in maturing projects to the final investment decision (FID) stage.
