U.S.-headquartered offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has landed a long-term assignment for its Noble Faye Kozack drillship, which will enable the unit to embark on a drilling campaign off the coast of Ghana once it completes its current work in Brazilian waters.
The rig owner's new contract, which was secured with Tullow Oil, enables the 2013-built drillship to drill up to ten wells offshore Ghana. This deal is expected to begin in mid-2027. The drillship is currently working for Petrobras in Brazil, based on the rig owner’s fleet status report from July 2026.
With a maximum drilling depth of 40,000 feet, the Noble Faye Kozack drillship, which features a Samsung 12000 Double Hull design, can operate in water depths up to 12,000 feet.
Commenting on the new award, Blake Denton, Noble's SVP of Marketing & Contracts, said: "This award reflects the strong working relationship between Tullow and Noble and the performance our crews continue to deliver offshore Ghana. At the end of July 2026, Noble reported approximately $200 million in contract value since the April fleet status report, including a six-well contract for Noble Viking and a three-well contract for Noble Claus Bachmann. As a result, the offshore drilling giant’s backlog stood at $6.8 billion.
