Brazilian state-owned energy company Petrobras has booked an 18-year-old construction support vessel (CSV), owned by Solstad Maritime (SOMA), on a long-term, multimillion-dollar assignment off the coast of Brazil.
Solstad Offshore (SOFF) has disclosed a two-year contract award with Petrobras for Solstad Maritime’s 2008-built CSV Normand Valiant .
The deal is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2026 in direct continuation of the current agreement and subsequent class renewal.
The vessel will provide accommodation services to support production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf. The gross contract value is approximately $62 million.
The CSV Normand Valiant, which is a smaller construction vessel mobilized with a walk-to-work gangway system, has accommodation capacity for 120 people.
This vessel will be on a bareboat contract from SOMA to SOFF, which is the contract holder with Petrobras.
The latest deal comes months after the Brazilian giant prolonged the work Solstad’s CSV Normand Fortress is carrying out in Brazilian waters for two more years.
