U.S.-headquartered science, technology, and engineering player KBR has secured a global agreement, which builds upon its decades-long relationship with BP, the UK-based energy giant.
Thanks to the new assignment, KBR will provide engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services to BP’s onshore, offshore, greenfield, and brownfield conventional energy projects alongside its new energy sector endeavors worldwide for three years.
However, this deal also comes with an option to extend the agreement for two additional years. The U.S. company will also provide BP with licensed technology solutions, said to demonstrate the depth and versatility of its capabilities.

“This global agreement with BP will involve multiple project teams collaborating from offices in Houston, Baku, India, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Singapore, Perth and London, leveraging KBR’s proven ability to deliver complex projects anywhere in the world.”
The two players currently have a global agreement in place for engineering services, under which KBR claims to have played a key role in projects in the U.S., North Sea, Iraq, Africa, and Azerbaijan , including work on Shah Deniz , where production got suspended recently over a subsea pipeline issue. The additional global agreement expands the opportunity for EPCM services.
The deal with BP comes after KBR won a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract to bolster the LNG arsenal at the Qalhat LNG complex in Oman, which is envisioned to be accomplished with the Sur LNG Train 4 project in the Middle East.
The U.S. firm landed several assignments in 2024, including an engineering and procurement services job for upgrades related to Shell’s gas development project, which is expected to increase Trinidad and Tobago’s LNG production.
