Specialist Marine Consultants (SMC) has been awarded two contracts by Ørsted for above-water structural inspection of the wind turbine foundations at the developer’s offshore wind farms in Germany and the UK.
Ørsted has four operational offshore wind farms in Germany and eleven in the UK. SMC has not disclosed which, if not all, projects will undergo foundation inspection.
SMC recently won a contract to provide marine coordination services for the Formosa 2 offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
Prior to that, the company was awarded the same work on Taiwanese Yunlin offshore wind project .
In the UK, SMC has been hired for marine coordination services at the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm.
