Russian giant Gazprom said its natural gas production during the first seven months of the year has reached 294.5 billion cubic meters.

This is the largest amount of gas produced during the January-July period since 2011, a 1.9 percent increase or 5.6 billion cubic meters when compared to the corresponding period in 2018, the company said in a statement.

The demand for natural gas from the national gas transmission system in the domestic market went down by 1.4 percent, however, gas suppliers rose by 8.2 percent in July.

According to the company’s preliminary data, Gazprom’s gas deliveries to Europe in the seven months of 2019 amounted to 111.5 billion cubic meters, down by 4.8 percent compared to the January-July period in the record year of 2018.

However, the company increased its gas exports to a number of countries, namely Hungary by 68.4 percent, Austria by 30.6 percent, the Czech Republic by 41.5 percent, Slovakia by 28.1 percent, the Netherlands by 10 percent and France by 3.5 percent.

Gazprom added that the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline continues with 1,739.4 kilometers of pipes, some 71 percent of the pipeline’s total length, have been laid in the Baltic sea.
