Norwegian Magseis Fairfield, a provider of ocean bottom seismic systems and services, has received a contingent letter of award (LOA) for a three months long data acquisition program in the Gulf of Mexico.
The survey is due to begin in the third quarter of 2019, Magseis Fairfield said on Friday.
Per Christian Grytnes , Magseis Fairfield CEO, said: “The program in the Gulf of Mexico further strengthens our order backlog for 2019 and reflects the increasing interest in ocean bottom seismic nodal surveys. The awarded program would be our fifth acquisition program in the Gulf of Mexico in 2019 and the high activity level demonstrates our strong position in this market.”
In related news, Magseis Fairfield CFO Tom Henrik Sundby recently resigned to focus on new ventures. The company then appointed Kevin Crosby as interim CFO.
Magseis Fairfield was established following Magseis’ acquisition of Fairfield Geotechnologies’ seismic technology business in December 2018.
Earlier this month, the company received one of the first deals under the new name, after receiving a letter of award for a data acquisition program in the North Sea .
