A French trade mission to the Netherlands is being organized in October to explore opportunities for the development of joint international projects that would accelerate the take-off of marine energy sector.
Political momentum and recent project developments in both countries offer an opportunity to increase collaboration between emerging organizations in the marine energy and offshore sector, according to the organizers.
The three-day trade mission will start on the second day of Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) in Amsterdam. The largest conference in Europe for offshore energies , starting on October 22, 2018, will provide a two-day access to the mission participants who will get a chance to do business with over 600 exhibitors from marine energy, offshore wind, and oil and gas sectors.
In addition to various perks offered as part of the trade mission, the French business ambassadors will also receive tickets for the OEEC-dedicated event for marine energy sector – Marine Energy Event – set to host speakers from major ocean energy companies, such as SIMEC Atlantis Energy , Minesto , Tidal Bridge , DejaBlue , Bluerise , as well policy makers from the European Commission’s DG MARE .
A specially hosted sessions for French delegates on project opportunities in Netherlands has also been arranged as part of the mission, which has been made possible with the support from Interreg NWE FORESEA project.
“With project opportunities in both France and Netherlands, it is the right timing for this trade mission,” said Peter Scheijgrond , Marine Energy Specialist at Dutch Marine Energy Centre (DMEC).
A site visit through North of Holland will follow the day after Marine Energy event, on October 25, to showcase DMEC research and development test facilities , Tocardo Tidal Power’s tidal array installation of 300kW , and the work of FishFlow Innovatio ns .
