Seismic acquisition player Polarcus Limited has received an award for a 3D project in the Caribbean.
Polarcus said on Monday that the project would begin in the second quarter of 2018, with a scheduled duration of two months.
The seismic company added that it would be utilizing its XArray multiple source acquisition method during the project.
According to Polarcus, XArray improves both in-line shots by 100-250 percent and cross-line bin density by up to 400 percent on any streamer separation and can be tailored to provide higher fold data, increase crossline sampling and improve acquisition efficiency.
The company did not reveal any financial details or the name of the vessel to be used for the project.
Recently, Polarcus secured significant industry prefunding and was granted the environmental permit for the Zénaïde broadband 3D marine seismic project in Australia.
