US-based wave energy developer CalWave Power Technologies is looking for a Senior Ocean Engineer to join its team and assist in the development of full-scale wave energy prototype device.

The Senior Ocean Engineer for CalWave should have extensive expertise in offshore/marine and mechanical engineering and demonstrate superior skill in designing marine structures, project development, and design of complex mechanical systems, the company said.

CalWave is developing a submerged pressure differential wave energy device, which won the second place at the Wave Energy Prize competition, organized last year by the US Energy Department – securing $500,000 cash prize.

After that, the company received additional funding through the US government’s programs, including the Small Business Vouchers (SBV) pilot initiative , to further advance its wave energy device.
