The next two shipments of turbine components for the 40MW Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm are set to arrive in Pori, Finland, next week, according to the developer’s social media pages.

The first wind turbine blades arrived to Mäntyluoto port in Pori at the beginning of April.

The installation of the wind farm’s gravity based foundations will start in late May and the turbine installation will take place from mid-June to mid-July. The installation of subsea cables will be carried out from May to July 2017.

The offshore wind farm – the world’s first designed for icy conditions – is scheduled to be commissioned during the autumn of 2017.

The offshore construction of the Tahkoluoto wind farm off Pori began last spring, with Jan De Nul preparing the seabed for the installation of the wind farm’s ten foundations and subsea cables.

In early April, Jan De Nul announced its wind farm installation vessel Vole au vent is mobilising for the Finnish offshore wind farm.

The EUR 120 million Tahkoluoto offshore wind project is being developed by Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy. The wind farm will comprise 10 Siemens 4MW wind turbines.
