Enviro-Serve’s wind farm support vessel (WFSV) Sea Fox has returned to the company’s Lowestoft shore base after working for Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke (NSW) GmbH providing 24-hour support for their inter-array cable installation at the Nordergründe offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

Throughout the 9-month contract the 24-metre vessel worked out of the port of Wilhelmshaven in Germany.

The vessel will undergo a short period of planned maintenance carried out by the company’s engineering team before commencing her summer work campaign.

The offshore wind farm is being constructed at a water depth of 10m, approximately 15km north-east of the island of Wangerooge.

The 110MW wind farm, developed by wpd, will feature 18 Senvion’s 6.15MW turbines.

At the end of December 2016, MPI Enterprise completed the installation of the 18 turbines at the site.

Initially planned to be commissioned by the end of 2016, the wind farm will be put into full operation in the second quarter of 2017.

The commissioning was postponed due to BVT, the company in charge of the wind farm’s substation, entering insolvency.
