Magseis, a Norwegian seismic survey company, in November said it had secured a letter of award for a project outside the North Sea region with an undisclosed client.
On Tuesday, December 15, the company revealed both, the name of the client and the location of the project. Client – Petronas; Location – Malaysia.
Magseis said that the contract from Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia, came via its local representative Dialog Services Sdn. Bhd., for seabed seismic acquisition using the company’s proprietary MASS system and vessel “Artemis Athene”.
The project entails a high density 3D survey of approximately 100km2 at the Bokor Field, offshore Sarawak. The duration of the contract is estimated at approximately 4.5 months inclusive steaming to the prospect and will start shortly.
