Wim Biesemans has joined the Belgian dredging, environmental and marine engineering group DEME as CEO of DEME Concessions.

According to DEME, Biesemans will oversee all concession activities related to infrastructure, renewable energy, including offshore wind, wave and tidal energy, and marine resources.

Alain Bernard , CEO of DEME Group, said: “With Wim Biesemans we welcome a strong team player who has the know-how and expertise to further strengthen the DEME Concessions department.”

Biesemans worked as CEO of Parkwind where he was involved in the development of the offshore wind farms Belwind, Northwind and Nobelwind.

Wim Biesemans , CEO of DEME Concessions, said: “I love building strong teams that can grow together and that’s exactly what I expect to do with DEME’s entire entrepreneurial team. I like addressing challenges and making a difference.”

DEME Concessions was established in April 2013 with the aim to regroup all concessions of the DEME Group in the field of dredging and land reclamation, offshore wind energy, wave and tidal energy and offshore mineral resources.
