Taiwanese carrier Wan Hai Lines has beaten Danish container shipping giant Maersk, taking the lead as the most reliable carrier, according to SeaIntel’s Global Liner Performance Report for May 2015.

Wan Hai moved from third place to first, putting Maersk Line into second place in the survey that checks on-time year-on-year performance of the top 20 lines from March to May.

SeaIntel’s report indicates that Wan Hai has been moving rapidly up the ranks, from 16th to third, and was top placed for the March-May period.

“Liner schedule reliability is extremely important to our customers, the company focus on providing the most intensive voyages and strictly control the liner schedule to ensure container service punctuality. With the tough competition of container shipping market, Wan Hai continues to enhance all aspects of customer service efficiency and offers most comprehensive and intensive shipping network available in Asia to reinforce its competitive advantages,” Wan Hai said.

Israel’s cargo shipping company ZIM Integrated Shipping Services took the lead among global carriers in schedule reliability on the Asia-US East Coast trade.

ZIM’s VP Global Sales Nissim Yochai commented: “I’m glad to say that our concentrated efforts, focusing on constant improvement of our products across the board, specifically on the strategic Asia-US East Coast trade, bear fruits. As part to of our initiatives, we launched the new Seven Star Express Service on this trade last May.”
