Alstom released a video describing the pilot tidal farm at Raz Blanchard, and the aims this project is expected to achieve.
Alstom and GDF SUEZ consortium has been chosen as one of the suppliers of the equipment for the tidal energy pilot farm at Raz Blanchard, west of the Cotentin peninsula, an area which represents one of the best tidal resources in the world.
The project aims to achieve the following: master the technical and economic challenges of a tidal farm, supply the local grid with clean and predictable electricity and develop a new industry.
