OSX, an offshore and shipbuilding integrated solutions company belonging to the EBX Group, has obtained the certification for Inhouse Equipment Inspection (SPIE) through the Brazilian Institute of Oil, Gas and Biofuels – IBP.
The certification refers to the operation of the FPSO OSX-1, the company´s first offshore unit, and was issued in December 2012.
The certification brings higher operational safety and reliability to all activities executed on board the FPSO OSX-1, besides contributing to a significant cost reduction, given the longer intervals between equipment inspections in the vessel. “This is an important step towards consolidating the work carried out by the OSX team,” stated the company CEO Carlos Bellot .
The FPSO OSX-1 is operating at the Tubarão Azul field in Campos Basin (Rio de Janeiro State) under a leasing contract with OGX, an oil and gas company also belonging to the EBX Group. The unit began operations in January 2012 and since then has reached an average operating efficiency of 99%, an unprecedented result for startup operations in Campos Basin.
