Second-hand tanker market recorded four sales contracts last week, in which Greek shippers dominated again, according to Lion Shipbrokers Weekly report.

Reportedly, Alpha Tankers, from Greece, paid USD 38 million for double hulled VLCC SAMCO AMERICA built at Hyundai Heavy yard in 2003. According to Q88 database, the DNV classed 304,996 MT vessel was previously owned by Samco Alpha Ltd. and operated by Goodwood Ship Management Pte Ltd.

En bloc purchase of three double hulled oil/chemical tankers for the price of USD 74 million has allegedly been made by clients of Quintana, a Greek seaborne transportation company. These vessels were built by STX Offshore & Shipbuilding from South Korea in 2008/2007. NORD SOUND, NORD SEA and NORD STRAIT are 49,930 MT modern MR tankers, previously owned by Norden Shipping from Singapore.

The third sale is credited to clients of Thenamaris from Greece. Namely, a modern MR tanker SEAEXPRESS built at Japanese shipyard Shin Kurushima in 2007 has been purchased for USD 18 million. SEAEXPRESS is an oil tanker with 45,976 MT previously owned by Seafarers Shipping, Inc and operated by Victoria Ship Management Inc.

MR MOSCALVO has been purchased by clients of Sino East of China for USD 11.6 million. The vessel is a product tanker built by Daedong Shipbuilding Co., South Korea in 1998.
