DP World today celebrated the 41st UAE National Day with cultural and traditional Emirati festivities for its employees, partners, customers and friends.

Activities included the ceremonial planting of a tree in response to the suggestion of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to plant Union Trees across the country.

As part of the celebrations, DP World’s ports of Jebel Ali, Mina Rashid and Mina Al Hamriya also marked the country’s 41st National Day with the distribution of trees to employees as part of the Union Tree initiative.

HE Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Vice Chairman, DP World and Group Chief Executive Officer, Port and Free Zone World : “ During the past four decades Dubai’s ports and free zones have played a leading role in diversifying our economic base and making non-oil trade a major contributor to the nation’s economy. Mohammed Sharaf, Group Chief Executive Officer, DP World, said: “ As a global marine operator, DP World flies the UAE’s colours in more than 60 terminals across six continents. We consider ourselves to be the commercial ambassadors of our beloved country. We remain committed to working towards even greater achievements, providing efficient terminal services to customers and contributing to the economic well-being of the country. ”

Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region , said: “ Jebel Ali Port is well positioned as the region’s gateway and leading port. We owe this to the wider national ambition to be the best in whatever we do and the dynamic spirit that drives this nation. On this special anniversary, we are honoured to see Emiratis joined by thousands of our employees of different nationalities in celebrating National Day. This is the UAE at its best. ”
