The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted AS Norske Shell consent to use Ormen Lange subsea template C with associated pipelines. The consent includes use of Ormen Lange subsea template C and manifold with associated intra-field pipelines,intrafield umbilical and pipeline end modules.
The planned start-up of production from the first well on subsea template C is 14 October 2012.
Ormen Lange is a gas field located in the Møre Basin in the southern part of the Norwegian Sea. Water depth at the site varies from 800-1100 metres. The considerable water depth has made the development very challenging and has led to development of new technology.
