Pallas Shipping has decided with its customers to connect their vessels to green power when the ships at berth for unloading or loading.

The company has already begun this effort and MT Pallas equipped with shore power, and the purchase of green electricity. Green electricity means that Pallas Shipping scrutinizes the electricity supplier’s production. Primarily Pallas chooses to purchase their electricity is produced by solar or wind power.

The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of August.

The next ship in turn is the MV Pallas Ocean that together with Thun companies and Ineos in Stenungsund chosen to connect electricity for the ship when it releases salt to Ineos.

The advantages of the electrical connection are great for the environment:

A) Large reductions in CO2 and NOX emissions

B) Much lower noise level for the crew and for the people and animals that reside in close proximity

to the ship

C) Large fuel savings, you do not have to run the generators on the ship.
